Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a structure fire last night, just shortly after 8:15, at 156 Little Victoria Road.
Cherokee County 911 received a call stating that flames were showing and half of the house was on fire. The caller also advised that he was going to alert neighbors whose homes were close to the house fire. It was uncertain at first if anyone was inside the home, however, 911 was advised that the homeowner had pulled up and nobody was inside the house.
Battalion 1 arrived on scene first to report that 40% of the house was involved. Firefighters began an offensive attack on the one-story home and were able to get the fire knocked down. Unfortunately, the fire destroyed the home and all of the contents inside.
According to Fire Investigator, Cheri Collett, “The fire originated on the back deck a result and was the result of used charcoal discarded into a storage container.”
No injuries were reported.
