Helping Others Save Lives

November 19, 2019

The Safe Kids World Wide National Certification Class for Child Passenger Safety Technician certification was held on November 12-14th at The Bluffs Administrative offices in Canton, Georgia.

Teachers from Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services included Senior Fire Educator, Lisa Grisham, Firefighter II, Michele Ice and Fire and Life and Safety Educator, Beth Elder.  Sgt. George Williams from the city of Woodstock and Captain Sandra Dupree from Sandy Springs were also on hand to help.  Together, these instructors came together to certify 8 new technicians from around the state to assist parents and caregivers on how to properly choose and install the proper car seat for their child as well as how to properly restrain them in the seat.

Three out of four car seats are installed wrong!  Having new technicians will help change these numbers and help ensure our children are riding safely.   If you need assistance please contact Safe Kids Cherokee County by visiting our website at safekidscherokeecounty.org to make an appointment or find resources for many types of injury prevention topics.
